Nice site about France ammonites.Very good help for the Departement Deux-Sèvres and Calvados and some others.
One question only, why you dont give exactly the Location were you find the ammonites,f.i.
Villers-sur-Mer or Fueguerolles-sur-Orne,ect.
On this way you can give more infos to the collectors to compare their fossils.

How ever I think your Ludwigia sp.could be the Ludwigia aff.obtusiformis(Morphospecies)
from the Inferior Oolite(Murchisonae-Zone)
of the Location:Bearreraig,Isle of Skye in
Scotland.

Pascal

Hi Pascal,
My opinion is clear : I won't quote the precise locations.

1st case: this is an unknown location that I found by myself or friends: I prefer to keep it undestroyed for a while ; figuring out that anyboby in the world could get the information leads to care.
2nd case: this is a famous location so not quoting it is not a problem ; if I figure a Peltoceras athleta from Maine-et-Loire, knowledgeable people will easily link it to Montreuil-Bellay ; same thing for a Cardioceras bukowskii from Calvados, this is obviously from Villers.

Furthermore, I whish that those who look for a deposit make their own effort. My peers and I have found numbers of our locations by reading lots of publications followed by research in the field. This is never wasted time and allows to enhance knowledge.

The ammonite came with the name Ludwigia carinata (I haven't found it by myself), but I haven't got the right documentation, especially Buckman, to confirm this. This is not a real problem since this is a morphospecies, as obtusiformis is too. I can wait for the family to be revised :-)
At the moment, it would be better referred to L. gr. murchisonae microconch.
